And yet people age...

And yet people age the way wine does, when our understanding of ourselves and others is allowed to deepen and express itself fully. People we have known over the years have a value in our lives that is different than that of people we have known a short time. There is something about two people having moved through the stages of life together, that spiritually fertilizes the garden they share. There is an ineffable depth to having walked the walk with someone, from that land called "who used to be" to who we are today.

There's a state of being...

There's a state of being that is raw and authentic and fiercely graceful, like a great ballerina dancing in her prime. Sex in that place is more than just sex. With every couple who make it past the sad disconnection of sex that's just sex to the fire at our center, the world is brought closer to the end of its pain. How excruciating to have touched that place, and then to land unsuspectingly back in the world as we knew it: the cold , nonintimate, unsoft world of people who cannot find each other. That's why we should never have sex casually. If you're not with a person who's an artist at love, the art of love is a dangerous game.

All abundance comes from within...

All abundance comes from within, as consciousness precedes matter. Our economic policy should be this: to teach and remind every American of his or her inestimable value and potential, to create the contexts in which those gifts are most easily mined, and then strictly adhere to the ethical standards by which each person is held accountable for what he or she does and does not do.

The purpose of education...

The purpose of education is that we might come to understand the world and our place in it, that we might be fueled in our actions by our own resources of depth and intelligence. We should be educated not to serve the system but to run the system. In a democracy, we must all be leaders, and we cannot lead what we are ignorant of.

On this day I ask for new life...

Dear God,
On this day I ask for new life
I ask to be reborn in spirit and mind.
I choose to consider as possible, through the
grace of God, the total transformation of my mind and body.
The mystical nature of who I really am is
known to You, dear God, but not to me.
Let me see revealed the depth and power of my true Self.
Amen

We are here only to love...

We are here only to love, and love cast out fear. When we understand that love is the reason for our power-that it is our power-we lose our fear of owning its strength. We become willing to experience the power within us, that it might be used as a channel through which love is expressed to all humankind.

Atonement is more than a mere apology.

Atonement is more than a mere apology. To atone is to do more than say you're sorry; it is to commit to never do it again. When we atone for past abuses toward someone, our prayer is that God remove whatever character defect within us led to the abuse to begin with, and transform us into someone not likely to repeat the error. And atonement includes the making of amends wherever and however possible.

Please help me.

Dear God,
Please help me.
I can sense the beauty of Heaven
and the peace of Your arms,
but I cannot find them
here.
May I come home while still on earth?
Please take me there, and keep me.
Thank-you, God.
Amen

God's mercy is an active power.

God's mercy is an active power. His angels, both visible and invisible, are present at every step of our journey, reaching out to us as we reach out to them. Whenever we are receptive to His healing, His healing is on the way; God will do His part if we do ours.
